Dreaming of Gift Baskets

The only time I ever received a gift basket, if ever, was when I fell sick a couple of years ago. It contained fruits and flowers. Sadly, no daisy. I mentioned 'if ever' because I could not distinctly recall ever receiving it but I have an impression of it. I hope it was not an impression of baskets I had sent to friends!

Anyway, I chose this topic because I think a gift basket is an absolute delight, except when you're feeling poorly. Imagine receiving, just before that special someone comes for dinner, a basket with your favourite flowers, a bottle of your favourite wine and heavenly chocolates. Ooohhh... how romantic.

Or, I would be esctatic if I received a basket of books and junk foods (Mister Potato, please and yummy Beryl's chocolates). That would set my weekend for me - munching snacks and reading on the bed or my favourite ol' couch. It would put kgs on me but I would forgive you without a second thought.

Now these would be some gift baskets:-

Basket with big blood red ribbon. Add a sexy red lingerie and a bottle of red wine. Not much else needed to make a gal, and the gent, happy.

6 cans of beer and loads of peanuts. Simple. For guys night in. Sent it to your man on his poker night. It's the least you could do for all those chocolates and wine.

Books, preferably Nora Robert's, with a bottle of wine and cheese. Imagine relaxing in the bathtub with a book of Nora Robert and a glass of wine. Perfect for the hardworking single woman. Guys, if you're trying to attract her attention, this is the way to go. For us in Asia who drink less wine, substitute wine & cheese with good chocolates. Throw in a bottle or two of sparkling juice.

Hmmm....think I'll drop by the mall for a bottle of something tonight. Got a date with Nora Robert. My sister just gave me half a dozen from the 'Detective Eve Dallas' series.

Cheers.
